[News] Indonesian EO in Negotiation for CNBLUE Concert in Indonesia

CNBLUE is currently preparing for their Asia Tour ‘CNBLUE 2011 Asia Tour Concert Blue Storm‘ which will kick off in Seoul, South Korea next September. Who would have thought, they are also reportedly going to visit Indonesia!

The concert is planned to be held on the fourth week of November 2011. However the promoter has not been able to confirm the dates for the event and for the concert ticket sales.

[News] Super Junior gets injured on the set of Dream Team

Super Junior members Leeteuk, Donghae, Eunhyuk, Yesung, Sungmin, and Shindong recently recorded their appearance on Dream Team on August 21st. As some may recall, SHINee’s Minhois a permanent guest on the show and has gotten injured more than once. Unfortunately, during the recording on the 21st, Super Junior also sustained injuries.

The recording for the show lasted around 4 hours and when it was almost finished, Donghae fell into the water and sustained injuries. He was reported to have feel a little bit of pain in his leg and his knee was bruised. He was taken backstage where the doctor told him to stop recording. Eunhyuk stayed by his side for the rest of the recording. He reassured fans that he was fine and okay.
Eunhyuk was also reported to have an arm injury and received some treatment backstage while Sungmin left with a slightly hurt wrist, who later received acupuncture.

Yesung’s injury is the one that has got fans worried the most. The second stage reportedly collapsed and the entire set had to be repaired twice. Yesung fell off a platform for one of the challenges and landed in the bubbles below. He didn’t move for about 2 to 3 minutes as it seems he injured his waist and leg. He was taken to the hospital and can’t move his body. It has been revealed that Yesung actually injured his spine.

So let’s see. In one recording of Dream Team, Donghae has a sprained ankle, Yesung has an injured spine, Sungmin’s wrist is hurt, Eunhyuk injured his arm, and the set had to be repaired twice. This is insane! The boys are probably already drained from album promotions and now they have to deal with injuries. Even though I want to see them on stage, I really hope they take a break and rest for a few days.

The episode will be broadcasted on September 4th and 18th.

Updated: Dream Team filming has ended and all the Super Junior members are reported to be in better condition than they were before.

[News] SNSD dominates K-pop hot issues of the year

A survey was conducted among 50 reporters from the Korean showbiz by SBS E!TV’s staff to find out the top 10 hot issues among idols in the first half of the year.

Out of these top 10 hot issues, five of the issues were related to SNSD, once again proving their popularity and attention in the country.

The ninth issue was on the topic ‘Separate and Together’ and the reason for SNSD not having sub-units was explained. The nine girls have been praised to have special and unique characteristics and many suggested that they should have sub-units. However, SM Entertainment wants to show SNSD as a whole, as a complete nine-membered group, perhaps due to sad memories from TVXQ’s separation.

Amazingly, Sooyoung’s talented and precise imitating skills, which attracted a lot of attention, came in 8th of the top 10 hot issues. Sooyoung’s well-loved, amazing imitating skills also became part of her charms and special characteristics.

Coming in third is the topic of ‘Bold Idols’ and Hyoyeon became the example of how idols boldly declare that they are in love. In the variety talkshow ‘Strong Heart’, SNSD’s dancing queen confessed that she had a crush on a male idol and she started to like him more and more, to the extend of having dreams of him. She hinted that the male idol does not have double eye-lid, is smart and dances well. To this, the media found five possible male idols, namely 2PM’s Wooyoung, BEAST’s Doojoon, Big Bang’s Daesung, MBLAQ’s Lee Joon and SS501′s Kim KyuJong.

The second topic was ‘Controversies on Suggestiveness’ and SNSD was an example of how K-pop idols’ performances and costumes are often considered suggestive. UEE of K-pop girl band After School is starring in two TV dramas at the moment, as a university student who overcomes a sad family history in KBS weekend drama "Ojak Brothers", and as a country girl who grows into a successful golfer in "BIRDIE BUDDY" on cable channel tvN.

In an interview on Aug. 8, UEE said, "I watched the first episode of 'Ojak Brothers' with the script in hand to check for mistakes, and my acting left a lot to be desired compared to more senior actors". She in fact started out wanting to be an actress and went to a lot of auditions, but ended up making her debut as a singer first.

What does she think about criticism that she would not have won two starring roles simultaneously despite her inexperience if she had not been a member of a successful manufactured band? "I find the statement unfair. I didn't win the roles easily because of my body, or because I'm in a band. I practiced acting and golfing very hard for three months to pass the audition for the soaps".

Will she be able to both sing and act? "It's not easy for me to maintain both jobs in a very tight schedule, because After School are preparing Japanese debut. But I try to do my best by cutting down on sleep because I can't afford to be a nuisance to After School and the TV crew", UEE said.

How is her acting coming along? "Right now, it's just so much fun. I really enjoy reading the script and thinking about how to play certain scenes when the new script comes out.
